CAMP YDP After-School Counselor (Part Time)

Reports to : Director

​

The role of an After-School Counselor at CAMP Youth Development is to ensure the health, safety, and proper supervision of each child in our program while providing positive and appropriate interactions in a FUN and enriching learning environment.  Duties include but are not limited to:

 

• Understand staff requirements contained in the Manual of Requirements for Childcare Centers, from the State of New Jersey

 

• Follow the daily routine that includes structured and unstructured activities (group and individual)

 

• Monitor and assist student completion of homework assignments

 

• Provide children daily physical activity, indoor or outdoor weather permitting

 

• Prepare materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use in learning activities.

 

• Monitor and meet children’s needs with positive discipline and dependable supervision.

 

• Foster creative outlets for children.

 

• Maintain a sanitary environment.

 

• Accompany and monitor students during field trips

 

• Any other job-related duties as assigned by the Executive Director

 

Qualifications:  Childcare experience

Days: 5 per week, Monday – Friday (2pm-7pm) 

Compensation: $17 - 18 per hour
